A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Savannah Grace 
Copeland of Knoxville. 
 
 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of 
the untimely passing of Savannah Grace Copeland, a young lady who had accomplished a 
great deal in her thirteen years on Earth; and 
 WHEREAS, the cherished daughter of Michael and Amanda Copeland, Savannah dearly 
loved her family and friends, and she possessed an appreciation and affinity for art, especially 
drawing; and 
 WHEREAS, renowned for her beautiful smile that "lit up the room," Savannah Copeland 
attended Powell Middle School, where she was a gifted student and an accomplished athlete, 
excelling in gymnastics, karate, and cheerleading; and 
 WHEREAS, she planned to study forensic anthropology at the University of Tennessee; 
and 
 WHEREAS, Savannah was a longtime member of Powell United Methodist Church; and 
 WHEREAS, Savannah Copeland is survived by her loving parents, Michael and Amanda 
Copeland; brother, Britton Burchell, and twin brother, Kasey Copeland; great-grandfather, 
Robert Baker; grandparents, Barbara Copeland, Shirley Patrick, and George and Sidney 
Copeland; aunt, Laurie (Paul) Hunley; uncle, Scott (Laura) Copeland; cousins, Chris Hunley and 
April Hunley; and extended family members, Alicia Anderson and Allen Burchell; and 
 WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Wayne Patrick, and 
grandmother, Sharon Patrick; and 
 WHEREAS, although her life was all too brief, Savannah Copeland leaves behind an 
indelible legacy as a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend, and she will be forever 
missed by everyone who knew and loved her; and

 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should remember 
Savannah Copeland and commemorate her many accomplishments; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED 
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE 
CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Savannah Grace Copeland, giving thanks for her 
bountiful life and the joy she brought to her family and friends. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences 
to the family of Savannah Copeland. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
