12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor Bill and Trish Nash.

14	14	WHEREAS, it is most fitting that we should honor those citizens who, through their
15	15	extraordinary efforts, have become leaders of whom we can all be proud; and
16	16	WHEREAS, Bill and Trish Nash are such estimable people who evince the greatest
17	17	integrity and probity in all their chosen endeavors; and
18	18	WHEREAS, high school sweethearts Bill and Trish Nash met at Cohn High School in
19	19	West Nashville in the early 1960s and were married shortly thereafter; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Dr. Nash graduated from Vanderbilt University, and the couple moved to
21	21	Memphis, where Bill Nash attended the University of Tennessee Dental School; Bill and Trish
22	22	Nash moved again to Blytheville, Arkansas, where Dr. Nash served as a captain in the United
23	23	States Air Force; and
24	24	WHEREAS, following Dr. Nash's distinguished service, Bill and Trish Nash relocated to
25	25	Smyrna, where Dr. Nash began his dental practice; he practiced dentistry from 1972 until taking
26	26	his much-deserved retirement in 2011; and
27	27	WHEREAS, an active leader in her community, Trish Nash served as regent of the Sam
28	28	Davis Home and as a volunteer for several organizations, including Meals on Wheels, the
29	29	Smyrna La Vergne Food Bank, the TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, the American Cancer
30	30	Society, and the Rutherford County Republican Party; she began the Smyrna and La Vergne
31	31	offices of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of the board
32	32	of directors at First Bank; and

37	37	WHEREAS, Bill Nash is a Rutherford County Master Gardener, a certified Kansas City
38	38	Barbecue Society judge, a caretaker of the Templeton Grove Cemetery, and a member of the
39	39	Rotary Club of Smyrna, which he previously served as president; and
40	40	WHEREAS, in addition to his appointment as a trustee of the Sam Davis Home, Dr.
41	41	Nash is an avid runner, and Smyrna Parks and Recreation has, for many years, held the Bill
42	42	Nash Dash for Cash as part of the annual road race in honor of his many years of service and
43	43	dedication to his community; and
44	44	WHEREAS, Bill and Trish Nash are fifty-year members of the Moose Club, and they
45	45	continue to be active and involved in their beloved Rutherford County community; and
46	46	WHEREAS, devoted to their family, Bill and Trish Nash enjoy the love and support of
47	47	their children, Hunter and Beth, and five grandchildren; and
48	48	WHEREAS, the success of the State of Tennessee, the strength of our communities,
49	49	and the overall vitality of our society depend, in great measure, on the dedication of people such
50	50	as Bill and Trish Nash, who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others; and
51	51	WHEREAS, Bill and Trish Nash are wholly committed to the noble precepts of public
52	52	service that have earned Tennessee recognition as the Volunteer State, and they should be
53	53	specially recognized; now, therefore,
54	54	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
55	55	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
56	56	CONCURRING, that we commend Bill and Trish Nash for their honorable and astute service to
57	57	the good people of Tennessee and extend to them our best wishes for continued success.
58	58	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
59	59	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
60	60	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
61	61	without House or Senate designation.
