| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-501, established an advisory |

| 19 | 19 | | board for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-501, provides that the governor |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | shall appoint five members to such advisory board; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Rick Spell to the advisory board for the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | University of Tennessee Health Science Center for a term that expires on June 30, 2028; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Rick Spell is president of the Memphis Athletic Foundation at the University |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | of Memphis as well as a member of the Capital Campaign Committee tasked with raising $600 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | million; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Spell graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor's |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | degree in accounting; he attained his Certified Public Accountant certificate and devoted many |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | years of his career to investment banking; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-501, provides that each member |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | appointed by the governor to the advisory board for the University of Tennessee Health Science |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Center shall be confirmed by the general assembly; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED |
