| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pay tribute to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to excellence, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | have distinguished themselves in the classroom and beyond; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Reagan Stanfill of Campbell County High School is one such exceptional |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | student, who was recently named a candidate in the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, established in 1964 by executive order of the president, the U.S. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Presidential Scholars Program recognizes some of the nation's most distinguished graduating |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | high school seniors for their accomplishments in academics, leadership, community service, the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | arts, and career and technical fields; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is an elite honor, with |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | only 5,000 candidates selected from a pool of approximately 3.6 million students from |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | throughout the country; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Reagan Stanfill and her fellow candidates will learn in early April who |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | among them has been selected as one of the 600 semifinalists, and from that group, individuals |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | will be named U.S. Presidential Scholars in May of this year by a group of thirty-two eminent |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | citizens; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, the daughter of Rebekah and Arron Walden and the late Daniel Stanfill, |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Reagan has proven herself to be a student of the highest caliber not only in Tennessee but also |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | in the nation; this distinct honor most certainly bodes well for her future success; and |
