18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 65-1-101, creates the Tennessee |

20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 65-1-101(a)(4), provides that one (1) |

21 | 21 | | commissioner of the Tennessee regulatory authority shall be appointed by joint agreement |

22 | 22 | | among the governor, the speaker of the senate, and the speaker of the house of |
---|
23 | 23 | | representatives; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee, Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally, and Speaker |

25 | 25 | | Cameron Sexton have jointly appointed John Hie of Nashville to serve as a commissioner of the |
---|
26 | 26 | | Tennessee public utility commission for a term that will expire on June 30, 2030; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hie retired from Stephens, Inc., an investment firm in Little Rock, |
---|
28 | 28 | | Arkansas, in 2015; he had previously served with the JC Bradford Investment firm from 1984 to |
---|
29 | 29 | | 2000, working as a financial advisor and broker for a wide variety of private clients; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, a 1969 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of |
---|
31 | 31 | | Pharmacy, John Hie served from 1969 until 1972 as a pharmacist in the United States Army at |
---|
32 | 32 | | Walter Reed Army Medical Center; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hie was a managing pharmacist for Revco Drugs from 1972 to 1974, |

34 | 34 | | before embarking on a new business venture as the owner and operator of an independent |
---|
35 | 35 | | pharmacy; and |
---|
