16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pay tribute to |
---|
17 | 17 | | those outstanding professionals who have dedicated their careers to providing exemplary |
---|
18 | 18 | | service to their community; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Caroline Rogers is one such estimable individual, who has distinguished |
---|
20 | 20 | | herself as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rogers was recently recognized by the Tennessee Board of Regents as |
---|
22 | 22 | | the 2025 SOAR (Statewide Outstanding Achievement and Recognition) Community College |
---|
23 | 23 | | Faculty Member of the Year, a most befitting honor that recognizes the positive influence she |
---|
24 | 24 | | has on so many lives; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, the Tennessee Board of Regents established the SOAR Awards in 2019 to |
---|
26 | 26 | | recognize and honor outstanding students, faculty members, and staff members; major |
---|
27 | 27 | | accomplishments of the colleges; and philanthropists, volunteers, and partners who support the |
---|
28 | 28 | | schools in their missions; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Caroline Rogers has served as the Program Director for the Physical |
---|
30 | 30 | | Therapy Assistant Program at Chattanooga State Community College since 2014; she has also |
---|
31 | 31 | | served as a faculty member and adjunct instructor at Chattanooga State University and the |
---|
32 | 32 | | University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, after attending Lambuth University in Jackson, where she majored in |
---|
34 | 34 | | biology and pre-physical therapy, Dr. Rogers received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical |
---|
35 | 35 | | Therapy from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, Memphis in 1981; she |
---|
36 | 36 | | went on to earn a doctorate in physical therapy in 2008 from the University of Tennessee at |
---|
37 | 37 | | Chattanooga; and |

42 | 42 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Caroline Rogers has extensive experience as a physical therapist, |

43 | 43 | | having served at Life Care Center of East Ridge, Consulate Health Care, Contin-U-Care, |

44 | 44 | | Erlanger Medical Center, Siskin Rehabilitation Center, and Vanderbilt Medical Center; and |
---|
45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, recognized for her exceptional contributions to her profession and her |
---|
46 | 46 | | community, Dr. Rogers was named a Woman of Distinction of Greater Chattanooga in 2023 and |
---|
47 | 47 | | received the Gean Baron Award for service to Ski Beech Learn to Ski & Snowboard for disabled |
---|
48 | 48 | | adults/children in 2023, the Outstanding PTA Educator Award from the American Physical |
---|
49 | 49 | | Therapy Association in 2022, and Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award from Chattanooga State |
---|
50 | 50 | | Community College in 1997; and |

51 | 51 | | WHEREAS, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her profession, |

52 | 52 | | serving on the boards of ABIDE Respite Program, Family Voices of Tennessee, and the Patricia |

53 | 53 | | Neal Rehab Center and volunteering with the Special Olympics and the Interfaith Hospitality |
---|
54 | 54 | | Network; and |
---|
55 | 55 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rogers has shown a passion for teaching and mentoring, encouraging |

56 | 56 | | critical thinking, engagement, and hands-on application of skills in her students and helping |
---|
57 | 57 | | them transition from the academic to the clinical environment; and |
---|
58 | 58 | | WHEREAS, her dedication to improving geriatric care through scholarly research and |
---|
59 | 59 | | her collaboration with the University of Tennessee Doctor of Physical Therapy program to |
---|
60 | 60 | | provide joint learning opportunities further exemplify her commitment to continuous professional |
---|
61 | 61 | | learning and development; and |
---|
62 | 62 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Caroline Rogers has distinguished herself as a professional of the |

63 | 63 | | greatest ability and integrity, and she is truly deserving of our approbation at this time; now, |
