12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Teresa J. "TJ" Sutton for
13	13	her service to the General Assembly.

15	15	WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should pay
16	16	special tribute to those estimable legislative employees whose commitment to excellence and
17	17	dedication to public service have brought untold benefits to the citizens of the State of
18	18	Tennessee; and
19	19	WHEREAS, TJ Sutton is one such individual, who began her legislative career as the
20	20	executive legislative assistant for Representative Lowell Russell during the 2019 session; and
21	21	WHEREAS, in this important role, TJ Sutton provided high-level administrative support
22	22	to Representative Russell and his constituents in the 21
23	23	st
24	24	House District; and
25	25	WHEREAS, in addition to her exemplary career with the House of Representatives, Ms.
26	26	Sutton has worked in multiple other positions, demonstrating in each one her adaptability, her
27	27	dedication, and her attention to detail; and
28	28	WHEREAS, she has served as a residential manager in Adult Community Training; a
29	29	Crime Scene Investigator and Crime Scene Bureau Supervisor for the Collier County, Florida,
30	30	Sheriff's Office; a Code Enforcement Investigator for Collier County Code Enforcement; and
31	31	Senior Office Assistant and Witness/Victim Coordinator for Collier County Witness
32	32	Management/Victim Assistance; and
33	33	WHEREAS, a professional always looking to learn more, TJ Sutton has completed
34	34	numerous courses in medicolegal and forensic training, both online and in-person, from West
35	35	Virginia University; National Forensic Science Training Center; University of Tennessee,
36	36	National Forensic Academy Investigator Virtual Reality; Institute of Applied Science, North

41	41	Carolina University; Institute of Applied Science and Institute of Police Technology Management
42	42	at the University of North Carolina; and Florida Gulf Coast University, among others; and
43	43	WHEREAS, TJ Sutton has given back to her community as a certified coach in
44	44	numerous sports with Special Olympics Florida; a supporter of her local animal control, often
45	45	caring for rescued animals; and an unflagging volunteer with the Naples, Florida, Wildlife
46	46	Conservancy; and
47	47	WHEREAS, clearly deserving of the respect, admiration, and commendation of this
48	48	General Assembly, TJ Sutton distinguished herself as a public servant of the highest order and
49	49	should be specially recognized; now, therefore,
50	50	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
51	51	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
52	52	CONCURRING, that we honor Teresa J. "TJ" Sutton for her meritorious service to the General
53	53	Assembly as the executive legislative assistant for Representative Lowell Russell and extend to
54	54	her our heartfelt wishes for every continued success.
55	55	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
56	56	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
57	57	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
58	58	without House or Senate designation.
