<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 518 By Russell HJR0518 006665 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Teresa J. "TJ" Sutton for her service to the General Assembly. WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should pay special tribute to those estimable legislative employees whose commitment to excellence and dedication to public service have brought untold benefits to the citizens of the State of Tennessee; and WHEREAS, TJ Sutton is one such individual, who began her legislative career as the executive legislative assistant for Representative Lowell Russell during the 2019 session; and WHEREAS, in this important role, TJ Sutton provided high-level administrative support to Representative Russell and his constituents in the 21 st House District; and WHEREAS, in addition to her exemplary career with the House of Representatives, Ms. Sutton has worked in multiple other positions, demonstrating in each one her adaptability, her dedication, and her attention to detail; and WHEREAS, she has served as a residential manager in Adult Community Training; a Crime Scene Investigator and Crime Scene Bureau Supervisor for the Collier County, Florida, Sheriff's Office; a Code Enforcement Investigator for Collier County Code Enforcement; and Senior Office Assistant and Witness/Victim Coordinator for Collier County Witness Management/Victim Assistance; and WHEREAS, a professional always looking to learn more, TJ Sutton has completed numerous courses in medicolegal and forensic training, both online and in-person, from West Virginia University; National Forensic Science Training Center; University of Tennessee, National Forensic Academy Investigator Virtual Reality; Institute of Applied Science, North - 2 - 006665 Carolina University; Institute of Applied Science and Institute of Police Technology Management at the University of North Carolina; and Florida Gulf Coast University, among others; and WHEREAS, TJ Sutton has given back to her community as a certified coach in numerous sports with Special Olympics Florida; a supporter of her local animal control, often caring for rescued animals; and an unflagging volunteer with the Naples, Florida, Wildlife Conservancy; and WHEREAS, clearly deserving of the respect, admiration, and commendation of this General Assembly, TJ Sutton distinguished herself as a public servant of the highest order and should be specially recognized; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we honor Teresa J. "TJ" Sutton for her meritorious service to the General Assembly as the executive legislative assistant for Representative Lowell Russell and extend to her our heartfelt wishes for every continued success.
