1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Andrew and Rose
1313 Pollard upon the celebration of their sixtieth
1414 wedding anniversary.

1616 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pleasure in paying tribute
1717 to those successful marriages that have stood the test of time to serve as exemplars for present
1818 and future generations; and
1919 WHEREAS, on March 26, 1965, Andrew Pollard and Rose Marie Briggs were joined in
2020 holy matrimony, and since that fateful day, this outstanding couple has faced the world as one,
2121 basking in the glow of their love for each other during both life's joys and sorrows; and
2222 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pollard are highly respected citizens of their community and
2323 the very epitome of good neighbors, as they always endeavor to treat others as they would like
2424 to be treated; and
2525 WHEREAS, the couple owns A & R Barbecue, and Mrs. Pollard is a retired postal clerk
2626 who formerly worked at the Memphis Bulk Mail Center; and
2727 WHEREAS, Andrew and Rose Pollard have both earned the respect of their colleagues
2828 and customers alike for the exemplary quality of their food and service; and
2929 WHEREAS, this fine couple's praiseworthy marriage has produced three children,
3030 Lashun (Gregory) Turner, Brian (Magistrate Judge Mitzi) Pollard, and the late Latrice (Reginald
3131 Sr.) Anthony; and
3232 WHEREAS, the Pollards are also the proud grandparents of Keith (Asia) Pollard,
3333 Brandon Pollard, Randi Anthony, and Reginald Anthony II and the great-grandparents of
3434 Aaliyah Anthony, Kash Pollard, and Major Glass; and

3939 WHEREAS, dedicated to their Lord, the Pollards are faithful members of New Direction
4040 Christian Church, where Mr. Pollard serves as an elder, Empower-U facilitator, and member of
4141 the finance team, and Mrs. Pollard serves on the Mary, Martha Ministry and the finance team;
4242 and
4343 WHEREAS, for sixty years, this blessed union has grown and prospered as an
4444 expression of time-honored family values and selfless love; and
4545 WHEREAS, marriages such as the Pollards' are truly the rock-solid foundation upon
4646 which our society is built and a beacon of sanity and continuity in these turbulent times; now,
4747 therefore,
4848 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
4949 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
5050 CONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate Andrew and Rose Pollard on the celebration of
5151 their sixtieth wedding anniversary and extend to them our best wishes for much continued
5252 happiness in the years to come.
5353 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5454 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5555 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
5656 without House or Senate designation.
