12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor NHC Cookeville upon being named the
13	13	2024 NHC Center of the Year.

15	15	WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pride in honoring those
16	16	facilities that provide high-quality care to older adults in Tennessee; and
17	17	WHEREAS, NHC Cookeville is one such facility, which was recently honored as the
18	18	2024 Center of the Year by National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) at its annual leadership
19	19	conference; and
20	20	WHEREAS, NHC is a senior care company based in Murfreesboro with eighty
21	21	healthcare centers, and it operates more than 10,300 beds nationally; NHC services include
22	22	assisted living, home care, hospice, mental health hospitals, pharmacy, insurance, and
23	23	management services; and
24	24	WHEREAS, enjoying an exemplary history of serving patients and families in Cookeville
25	25	and the Upper Cumberland area, NHC Cookeville is a 104-bed healthcare center led by
26	26	Administrator Jeremy Stoner and Director of Nursing Kelsie Bean; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Administrator Stoner has been at NHC Cookeville since 1998 and was
28	28	recognized as NHC Administrator of the Year in 2022; and
29	29	WHEREAS, no stranger to awards and accolades, NHC Cookeville has been among the
30	30	top five in the NHC Center of the Year rankings for the past three years and has won or been a
31	31	finalist for numerous NHC Honor Club and Legends Awards in past years; and;
32	32	WHEREAS, NHC Cookeville was also a 2023 recipient of the Bronze National Quality
33	33	Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living; and

38	38	WHEREAS, in 2024, NHC Cookeville was named an NHC 5-Star Center of Excellence,
39	39	had a Patient Care Component of 95.66 percent, overall occupancy of 94.56 percent, and a net
40	40	customer satisfaction score of 76.62; and
41	41	WHEREAS, additionally, NHC Cookeville is recognized as a CMS 5-Star Center,
42	42	indicating that it is in the top ten percent of all skilled nursing centers; and
43	43	WHEREAS, this State places a high priority on the provision of competent and
44	44	compassionate care in all assisted living and long-term care facilities, and it is fitting that this
45	45	General Assembly should recognize and applaud NHC Cookeville and its staff for their
46	46	extraordinary professionalism; now, therefore,
47	47	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
48	48	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
49	49	CONCURRING, that we hereby honor NHC Cookeville on being named the 2024 Center of the
50	50	Year and applaud the staff and administrators for their ongoing commitment to providing
51	51	outstanding care to the residents of Tennessee.
52	52	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
53	53	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
54	54	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
55	55	without House or Senate designation.
