1212 A RESOLUTION to honor NHC Cookeville upon being named the
1313 2024 NHC Center of the Year.

1515 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pride in honoring those
1616 facilities that provide high-quality care to older adults in Tennessee; and
1717 WHEREAS, NHC Cookeville is one such facility, which was recently honored as the
1818 2024 Center of the Year by National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) at its annual leadership
1919 conference; and
2020 WHEREAS, NHC is a senior care company based in Murfreesboro with eighty
2121 healthcare centers, and it operates more than 10,300 beds nationally; NHC services include
2222 assisted living, home care, hospice, mental health hospitals, pharmacy, insurance, and
2323 management services; and
2424 WHEREAS, enjoying an exemplary history of serving patients and families in Cookeville
2525 and the Upper Cumberland area, NHC Cookeville is a 104-bed healthcare center led by
2626 Administrator Jeremy Stoner and Director of Nursing Kelsie Bean; and
2727 WHEREAS, Administrator Stoner has been at NHC Cookeville since 1998 and was
2828 recognized as NHC Administrator of the Year in 2022; and
2929 WHEREAS, no stranger to awards and accolades, NHC Cookeville has been among the
3030 top five in the NHC Center of the Year rankings for the past three years and has won or been a
3131 finalist for numerous NHC Honor Club and Legends Awards in past years; and;
3232 WHEREAS, NHC Cookeville was also a 2023 recipient of the Bronze National Quality
3333 Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living; and

3838 WHEREAS, in 2024, NHC Cookeville was named an NHC 5-Star Center of Excellence,
3939 had a Patient Care Component of 95.66 percent, overall occupancy of 94.56 percent, and a net
4040 customer satisfaction score of 76.62; and
4141 WHEREAS, additionally, NHC Cookeville is recognized as a CMS 5-Star Center,
4242 indicating that it is in the top ten percent of all skilled nursing centers; and
4343 WHEREAS, this State places a high priority on the provision of competent and
4444 compassionate care in all assisted living and long-term care facilities, and it is fitting that this
4545 General Assembly should recognize and applaud NHC Cookeville and its staff for their
4646 extraordinary professionalism; now, therefore,
4747 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
4848 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
4949 CONCURRING, that we hereby honor NHC Cookeville on being named the 2024 Center of the
5050 Year and applaud the staff and administrators for their ongoing commitment to providing
5151 outstanding care to the residents of Tennessee.
5252 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5353 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5454 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
5555 without House or Senate designation.
