<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 644 By Williams HJR0644 007292 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor NHC Cookeville upon being named the 2024 NHC Center of the Year. WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pride in honoring those facilities that provide high-quality care to older adults in Tennessee; and WHEREAS, NHC Cookeville is one such facility, which was recently honored as the 2024 Center of the Year by National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) at its annual leadership conference; and WHEREAS, NHC is a senior care company based in Murfreesboro with eighty healthcare centers, and it operates more than 10,300 beds nationally; NHC services include assisted living, home care, hospice, mental health hospitals, pharmacy, insurance, and management services; and WHEREAS, enjoying an exemplary history of serving patients and families in Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland area, NHC Cookeville is a 104-bed healthcare center led by Administrator Jeremy Stoner and Director of Nursing Kelsie Bean; and WHEREAS, Administrator Stoner has been at NHC Cookeville since 1998 and was recognized as NHC Administrator of the Year in 2022; and WHEREAS, no stranger to awards and accolades, NHC Cookeville has been among the top five in the NHC Center of the Year rankings for the past three years and has won or been a finalist for numerous NHC Honor Club and Legends Awards in past years; and; WHEREAS, NHC Cookeville was also a 2023 recipient of the Bronze National Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living; and - 2 - 007292 WHEREAS, in 2024, NHC Cookeville was named an NHC 5-Star Center of Excellence, had a Patient Care Component of 95.66 percent, overall occupancy of 94.56 percent, and a net customer satisfaction score of 76.62; and WHEREAS, additionally, NHC Cookeville is recognized as a CMS 5-Star Center, indicating that it is in the top ten percent of all skilled nursing centers; and WHEREAS, this State places a high priority on the provision of competent and compassionate care in all assisted living and long-term care facilities, and it is fitting that this General Assembly should recognize and applaud NHC Cookeville and its staff for their extraordinary professionalism; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we hereby honor NHC Cookeville on being named the 2024 Center of the Year and applaud the staff and administrators for their ongoing commitment to providing outstanding care to the residents of Tennessee.
