12	12	A RESOLUTION to recognize the Tennessee District Council of
13	13	the Assemblies of God on the occasion of its
14	14	100

16	16	anniversary.

18	18	WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
19	19	recognize those venerable religious institutions and their congregations that, through their
20	20	unflagging capacity for love, dedication of spirit, and faith in God, enrich the lives of people in
21	21	their communities; and
22	22	WHEREAS, one such dynamic and historic community of faith is the Tennessee District
23	23	Council of the Assemblies of God, which will celebrate its 100
24	24	th
25	25	anniversary this year; and
26	26	WHEREAS, members of the Tennessee District Council of the Assemblies of God
27	27	congregate at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Madison, where individuals and families
28	28	thrive together and trust that God will bless homes, churches, establishments, businesses,
29	29	governments, and classrooms across the State; and
30	30	WHEREAS, the Tennessee District Council is under the leadership of District
31	31	Superintendents James Spence, Andrew Hickman, Ira Smith, W.G. White, Homer Waddle, C.C.
32	32	Crace, Earl Blythe, Gene and Jannette Jackson, Eddie and Amanda Turner, J.R. and Shirley
33	33	Gould, and Terry and Susan Bailey; Assistant District Superintendents Gaylon and Mary Echols,
34	34	Randy and Nancee Carter, and Randel and Darlene McCarty; and Youth Directors Terry and
35	35	Samalee Allen, Jeremy and Michelle Austill, and Brooks and Brittany Till; and
36	36	WHEREAS, Presbyters of the Tennessee District Council include Nick Serban, Todd
37	37	Alexander, Ed Hawkins, Jason Yarbrough, Andrew Templeton, Danny Frizzell, Greg Temke,
38	38	Tim VanDouser, Tommy Hall, Ronnie Sanders, Mark Kirkpatrick, Chris Moore, Nathan Kollar,

45	45	WHEREAS, Pastors of the Tennessee District Council include James Hamill, Tom
46	46	Lindberg, Maury Davis, and Mike Burnette, all of whom have surrendered to the divine call of
47	47	God to be Pentecostal preachers; these leaders have recognized that the message of Christ is
48	48	alive in the State of Tennessee and have gone forth in His power to set the captive free and
49	49	heal the brokenhearted; and
50	50	WHEREAS, the Tennessee District Council has stood on the rock-solid foundation of
51	51	Christian belief, service, and love for 100 years, serving as a bastion of faith and outreach to the
52	52	people of its community; and
53	53	WHEREAS, thanks to the council's faith, leadership, and strength of its members, the
54	54	Tennessee District Council of the Assemblies of God has persevered and continues to grow; it
55	55	is truly one of the great religious institutions and catalysts for positive spiritual change in our
56	56	State and nation, and the members of this exceptional congregation should be appropriately
57	57	honored for their exemplary service to their fellow Christians and to the good people of
58	58	Tennessee; now, therefore,
59	59	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
60	60	FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
61	61	CONCURRING, that we join in the celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Tennessee
62	62	District Council of the Assemblies of God, thank the good people of its congregation and their
63	63	ministers for their notable service to the Lord and the State of Tennessee, and wish them much
64	64	continued success.
65	65	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
66	66	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
