13+AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 68,
14+Chapter 120, relative to standards for roofs.

916 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
1017 SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 68-120-101, is amended by adding
1118 the following as a new subsection:
12-(/) The roof solar reflectance and thermal emittance requirements of the
13-International Energy Conservation Code for low-sloped roofs do not apply to the 2021
14-International Code Council adoption.
15-SECTION 2. The state fire marshal is authorized to promulgate rules to effectuate this
16-act. The rules must be promulgated in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures
17-Act, compiled in Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Chapter 5.
18-SECTION 3. For the purpose of promulgating rules, this act takes effect upon becoming
19-a law, the public welfare requiring it. For all other purposes, this act takes effect July 1, 2025,
