1111 A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of David Watson to
1212 the board of trustees of the University of
1313 Tennessee.

1515 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-201, provides for the governance
1616 of the University of Tennessee by the board of trustees; and
1717 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-202, provides that the governor
1818 shall appoint ten members to the board of trustees of the University of Tennessee; and
1919 WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed David Watson to the board of trustees of
2020 the University of Tennessee for a term that expires on June 30, 2030; and
2121 WHEREAS, a third-generation Tennessean, David Watson is a co-founder and co-owner
2222 of Mountain View Auto Group, which operates seven dealerships in the Chattanooga area; and
2323 WHEREAS, Mr. Watson is a 1973 graduate of the University of Tennessee; he has
2424 previously served the State as a member of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission; and
2525 WHEREAS, Mr. Watson brings valuable experience and knowledge to the board of
2626 trustees; and
2727 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-202, provides that each member
2828 appointed by the governor to the board of trustees of the University of Tennessee shall be
2929 confirmed by joint resolution of the General Assembly; now, therefore,
3030 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
3131 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
3232 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby confirm the appointment of David
3333 Watson to the board of trustees of the University of Tennessee for a term that expires on June
3434 30, 2030.
