1313 A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Lynn Richardson
1414 of Elizabethton to the Tennessee Ethics

1717 WHEREAS, pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 3-6-103, Governor Bill Lee
1818 has selected Lynn Richardson of Elizabethton as his appointee from the majority party to the
1919 Tennessee Ethics Commission; and
2020 WHEREAS, Ms. Richardson is a highly respected journalist who has served as president
2121 and publisher of the Elizabethton Star, publisher of the Herald & Tribune in Jonesborough, and
2222 director and founder of the Newspapers in Education program for the Johnson City Press; and
2323 WHEREAS, in recognition of her lengthy career in publishing, she has received
2424 numerous first-place awards from the Tennessee Press Association for excellence in the
2525 editorial, news, feature writing, and news photography categories, and she has served the
2626 organization as president, district director, and board member; and
2727 WHEREAS, Ms. Richardson gives back to her community as a board member for the
2828 Elizabethton/Carter County Boys and Girls Club and the Isaiah 117 House; and
2929 WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 3-6-103, requires that each
3030 gubernatorial appointee be confirmed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of approval by each house of
3131 the General Assembly; now, therefore,
3232 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
3333 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HO USE OF
3434 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that this body hereby confirms the appointment of Lynn
3535 Richardson to the Tennessee Ethics Commission, such term to expire on December 31, 2028.
