| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 3-6-103, Governor Bill Lee |

| 18 | 18 | | has selected Lynn Richardson of Elizabethton as his appointee from the majority party to the |

| 19 | 19 | | Tennessee Ethics Commission; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Richardson is a highly respected journalist who has served as president |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and publisher of the Elizabethton Star, publisher of the Herald & Tribune in Jonesborough, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | director and founder of the Newspapers in Education program for the Johnson City Press; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, in recognition of her lengthy career in publishing, she has received |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | numerous first-place awards from the Tennessee Press Association for excellence in the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | editorial, news, feature writing, and news photography categories, and she has served the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | organization as president, district director, and board member; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Richardson gives back to her community as a board member for the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Elizabethton/Carter County Boys and Girls Club and the Isaiah 117 House; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 3-6-103, requires that each |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | gubernatorial appointee be confirmed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of approval by each house of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the General Assembly; now, therefore, |
