13	13	A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Annie Dockery to
14	14	the standards recommendation committee for
15	15	English language arts.

17	17	WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312, creates a standards
18	18	recommendation committee for English language arts; and
19	19	WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(a), provides that the
20	20	governor shall appoint four members to the standards recommendation committee for English
21	21	language arts; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Annie Dockery to serve on such committee
23	23	for a term that expires on December 31, 2025; and
24	24	WHEREAS, Annie Dockery began her teaching career at Hardin Valley Academy in
25	25	Knoxville, where she taught College Prep and Honors English; she currently serves as an
26	26	educator with Maryville City Schools, where she has taught at both the middle school and high
27	27	school levels; and
28	28	WHEREAS, she is a 2020 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(b), provides that all
30	30	appointments to the committee "shall be subject to confirmation by the senate and the house of
31	31	representatives"; now, therefore,
32	32	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
33	33	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ST ATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
34	34	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we confirm the appointment of Annie Dockery to the
35	35	standards recommendation committee for English language arts for a term that expires on
36	36	December 31, 2025.
