A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Annie Dockery to
the standards recommendation committee for
English language arts.
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312, creates a standards
recommendation committee for English language arts; and
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(a), provides that the
governor shall appoint four members to the standards recommendation committee for English
language arts; and
WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Annie Dockery to serve on such committee
for a term that expires on December 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Annie Dockery began her teaching career at Hardin Valley Academy in
Knoxville, where she taught College Prep and Honors English; she currently serves as an
educator with Maryville City Schools, where she has taught at both the middle school and high
school levels; and
WHEREAS, she is a 2020 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; and
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-312(b), provides that all
appointments to the committee "shall be subject to confirmation by the senate and the house of
representatives"; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ST ATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we confirm the appointment of Annie Dockery to the
standards recommendation committee for English language arts for a term that expires on
December 31, 2025.
