1212 A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Bonnie June Raby of
1313 Oliver Springs.

1515 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
1616 the passing of Bonnie June Raby; and
1717 WHEREAS, Mrs. Raby was an exemplary public servant and consummate professional
1818 who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for her fellow citizens in numerous
1919 capacities; and
2020 WHEREAS, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, Mrs.
2121 Raby was a friend to everyone she encountered; she loved welcoming people into her home,
2222 and she graciously insisted upon feeding everyone who visited her; and
2323 WHEREAS, Mrs. Raby was an active and devout member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church,
2424 which she served faithfully for many years, singing in the choir and volunteering in the print
2525 shop; and
2626 WHEREAS, deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Raby always endeavored to remain true
2727 to family values of the highest order; and
2828 WHEREAS, Bonnie Raby enjoyed the loving companionship of her husband, Archie
2929 Raby, for fifty-four years before his passing; she was the proud mother of Leota (Terry) Wallick,
3030 Aladene (Lyle) Blythe, Malinda (Ken) Yager, and Hoyt (Donna) Raby; grandmother of Garan
3131 Wallick, Kellen Blythe, Alison Blythe, Trevor Blythe, Bonnie-Marie Yager-Wiggan, Will Yager,
3232 Brad Raby, Jess Raby, Archie Raby, Caleb Raby, and Hannah Raby; and great-grandmother of
3333 Levi Wallick, Felicity Wallick, Oliver Blythe, Kayleigh Blythe, Rylee Raby, Drew Raby, Kato
3434 Raby, Simon Raby, Emily Raby, Chasity Raby, and Kittrell Raby; and
3535 WHEREAS, Mrs. Raby is further survived by her cousin, Marilyn Gilchrist; brother-in-law,
3636 Gordon (Carol) Raby; sister-in-law, Jessie June Nelson; nephew and nieces, Keith Raby, Kristi
3737 Everett, and Danita White; and several other nephews and nieces; and

4242 WHEREAS, Bonnie Raby leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in
4343 public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all her chosen
4444 endeavors; and
4545 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
4646 remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
4747 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
4848 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
4949 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Bonnie June Raby,
5050 reflecting fondly upon her impeccable character and her stalwart commitment to living the
5151 examined life with courage and conviction.
5252 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences
5353 to the family of Mrs. Raby.
5454 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5555 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5656 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
5757 without House or Senate designation.
