12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Marie Brennan on her
13	13	selection as Lawrence County Public Library
14	14	director.

16	16	WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly give special
17	17	recognition to those individuals who have achieved significant milestones in their careers; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Marie Brennan is one such individual, who was recently selected by the
19	19	Lawrence County Public Library Board of Trustees to serve as director of the Lawrence County
20	20	Public Library and commenced her tenure in that illustrious post on February 3, 2025; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Ms. Brennan has served the Lawrence County Public Library with acumen
22	22	and alacrity for seven years, four of which she served as assistant director; and
23	23	WHEREAS, during her tenure, Marie Brennan outlined the plan for the Library Green, an
24	24	outdoor, fenced area at the rear of the library that offers space for children's programs and
25	25	picnic seating for patrons; and
26	26	WHEREAS, she was also awarded a grant from NASA and recruited personnel to give
27	27	presentations for the annual summer reading program; and
28	28	WHEREAS, Ms. Brennan succeeds the previous library director, Teresa Newton, who
29	29	admirably served her community for forty-eight years; and
30	30	WHEREAS, wholly committed to public service, Marie Brennan exemplifies the spirit and
31	31	allegiance to family and community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and
32	32	WHEREAS, her professionalism, integrity, and steadfast commitment to excellence
33	33	surely bode well for her success as director of the Lawrence County Public Library; and
34	34	WHEREAS, Ms. Brennan is a public-spirited citizen of the highest order and most worthy
35	35	of our approbation; now, therefore,

40	40	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
41	41	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HO USE OF
42	42	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Marie Brennan
43	43	on her selection as Lawrence County Public Library director and extend to her our best wishes
44	44	for every future success.
45	45	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
46	46	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
47	47	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
48	48	without House or Senate designation.
