<BillNo> <Sponsor> SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 185 By Walley SJR0185 004103 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Marie Brennan on her selection as Lawrence County Public Library director. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly give special recognition to those individuals who have achieved significant milestones in their careers; and WHEREAS, Marie Brennan is one such individual, who was recently selected by the Lawrence County Public Library Board of Trustees to serve as director of the Lawrence County Public Library and commenced her tenure in that illustrious post on February 3, 2025; and WHEREAS, Ms. Brennan has served the Lawrence County Public Library with acumen and alacrity for seven years, four of which she served as assistant director; and WHEREAS, during her tenure, Marie Brennan outlined the plan for the Library Green, an outdoor, fenced area at the rear of the library that offers space for children's programs and picnic seating for patrons; and WHEREAS, she was also awarded a grant from NASA and recruited personnel to give presentations for the annual summer reading program; and WHEREAS, Ms. Brennan succeeds the previous library director, Teresa Newton, who admirably served her community for forty-eight years; and WHEREAS, wholly committed to public service, Marie Brennan exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, her professionalism, integrity, and steadfast commitment to excellence surely bode well for her success as director of the Lawrence County Public Library; and WHEREAS, Ms. Brennan is a public-spirited citizen of the highest order and most worthy of our approbation; now, therefore, - 2 - 004103 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HO USE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Marie Brennan on her selection as Lawrence County Public Library director and extend to her our best wishes for every future success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
