12	12	A RESOLUTION to commend and congratulate the Grassland
13	13	Middle School Game Day Cheer Team, 2025
14	14	UCA Large Junior High Game Day National
15	15	Champions.

17	17	WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly are pleased to specially honor and
18	18	commend those successful high school athletic teams that, through their magnificent exploits,
19	19	bring honor to Tennessee and serve as exceptional ambassadors of this State; and
20	20	WHEREAS, the Grassland Middle School Game Day Cheer Team is one such group of
21	21	young athletes, which recently claimed the top spot at the 2025 Universal Cheerleaders
22	22	Association (UCA) Junior High Game Day National Championship in Orlando, Florida, on
23	23	February 9, 2025; and
24	24	WHEREAS, this year's national event hosted more than 27,000 athletes from 1,286
25	25	teams across thirty-four states; teams competing at the championship qualified at one of fifty
26	26	regional competitions across the country in 2024; and
27	27	WHEREAS, the Grassland cheerleaders earned the national title in their division, Large
28	28	Junior High Game Day, after a successful season in which they placed first in Large Junior High
29	29	Game Day and were named Grand Champion in the school division at Bullet Bash in
30	30	Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and placed first in Large Junior High Game Day and were named
31	31	Grand Champion in the school Game Day division at the Mountain Classic in Pikeville,
32	32	Kentucky; and
33	33	WHEREAS, the team also garnered its third consecutive UCA Bluegrass Regional
34	34	Championship in Large Junior High Game Day in Lexington, Kentucky, which was a multi-state
35	35	event that qualified the team for the national final, as well as a second consecutive TSSAA state
36	36	championship in Large Junior High Game Day in Knoxville, Tennessee; and

41	41	WHEREAS, although the season was beset with illness, unpredictable weather, and
42	42	various other challenges, the Grassland Middle School cheer team's commitment and resilience
43	43	paid off in the end; and
44	44	WHEREAS, the members of this outstanding championship team are Blaire
45	45	Wombacher, Blair Young, Claire McCloskey, Claire Wall, Delaney Carper, Delaney Kennedy,
46	46	Emma Puffer, Frankie Gilbert, Harper Beaird, Juliana Hart, Karis Saint-Aime, Michaela
47	47	Waterman, Molly Allsep, Naomi Whitehead, Olive Mockett, Savannah Ford, Scarlett Haralson,
48	48	Sophie George, Sydney Elmore, Sydney Williford, Brooklyn Knight, Cate Robinson, Charlee
49	49	Rose Wilkins, Christiana Dykstra, Coley Jane Stanley, Georgia Janson, Harper Joyce, Izzy
50	50	Spain, Margot Blackwelder, Meredith Barker, Morgan Boller, Nola Winton, Reagan Smith,
51	51	Shannon Siefkes, Valentina Blanco, Bryn Glauser, Gentry Anne Smith, and Sadie Mockett; and
52	52	WHEREAS, the Grassland cheerleaders were fortunate to have the invaluable, devoted
53	53	guidance of coaches Lisa Wheeler, Erin Schueler, Jennifer Keith, Jaime Puffer, and Malik
54	54	Briggs, as well as skills specialists Kelly Gerleve and Taylor Lark; and
55	55	WHEREAS, displaying great sportsmanship and outstanding character throughout the
56	56	season, the members of the Grassland Middle School cheer team have conducted themselves
57	57	in a manner appropriate to the integrity of the State of Tennessee; and
58	58	WHEREAS, the perseverance, determination, work ethic, and talent of this group of
59	59	young athletes not only made possible a stellar triumph but also surely bode well for their future
60	60	success; and
61	61	WHEREAS, we find it appropriate to acknowledge and applaud the Grassland Middle
62	62	School cheerleading squad for its outstanding performance; now, therefore,
63	63	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
64	64	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
65	65	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we commend and congratulate the coaches, skills

70	70	specialists, and members of the Grassland Middle School Game Day Cheer Team on their
71	71	commitment to excellence and congratulate them on winning the 2025 Universal Cheerleaders
72	72	Association Large Junior High Game Day National Championship.
73	73	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
74	74	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
75	75	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
76	76	without House or Senate designation.
