A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Sarah Loren Blackwell,
2025 Salutatorian at Wayne County High
School.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Loren Blackwell is one such exceptional student, who was recently
named the Salutatorian of the 2025 graduating class at Wayne County High School; and
WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and
steadfast commitment of time and talent, Ms. Blackwell has achieved outstanding academic
success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country;
and
WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Sarah Blackwell has earned an
exemplary grade average of 99.603 while participating in numerous extracurricular activities,
including the softball team, Beta Club, and Interact Club, as well as acting as Math Club
treasurer, senior class Sergeant at Arms, FCA leader, Wildcat Den leader, and a Wildcat
Ambassador; and
WHEREAS, voted Most Likely to Succeed by her peers, Ms. Blackwell will graduate with
honors, distinction, and work ethics distinction, as well as a Wayne County Volunteer Scholar,
accolades that all point to her outstanding character and academic abilities; and
WHEREAS, her display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for her
future success as a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she will study
kinesiology and exercise science; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Blackwell's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride
for her parents, John and Cassondra Blackwell, her family, her school, and her community; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Blackwell's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect,
admiration, and commendation of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF T HE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor Sarah Loren
Blackwell of Wayne County High School on being named the 2025 Salutatorian, salute her
impressive academic achievement, and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful
future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
