15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of |

16 | 16 | | the passing of Edward Gaylon Herron of Brownsville; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Herron was an exemplary gentleman and consummate professional |
---|
18 | 18 | | who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens in numerous |
---|
19 | 19 | | capacities; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, born in Haywood County on April 15, 1958, to Danny Joe Herron and Peggy |
---|
21 | 21 | | Jean Taylor Herron, Mr. Herron served his community for over forty years with his farming and |
---|
22 | 22 | | trucking operation; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, wishing to aid his fellow citizens in an even greater capacity, Mr. Herron |
---|
24 | 24 | | was a faithful board member and volunteer firefighter at the Belle Eagle District 7 Fire |
---|
25 | 25 | | Department, where his efforts maintained the safety and security of his neighbors, and while he |
---|
26 | 26 | | could, he annually volunteered his time and talent at the Brownsville Tractor Pull; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, a man of refined leisure, Mr. Herron was an accomplished outdoorsman |
---|
28 | 28 | | who relished duck hunting with his uncle, the late Jerry Alan Taylor, and he had a passion for |
---|
29 | 29 | | football, listening to Haywood High School Tomcat football every Friday; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Herron married his beloved wife, Patricia, in 1979; their union was |
---|
31 | 31 | | blessed with two daughters, and the Herrons enjoyed a bucolic existence in the Bethel |
---|
32 | 32 | | community, often vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Herron was a family man of unmatched quality, and whether he was |
---|
34 | 34 | | cultivating a garden with his mother or supporting his daughters' athletic endeavors, he always |
---|
35 | 35 | | did his utmost to ensure that his tender devotion was apparent; and |

42 | 42 | | Harmon Herron; his two daughters, Emily Herron (Patrick) Littlejohn and Maggie Anne Herron |

43 | 43 | | (James Harris); his dear friend, Tracy Young; a multitude of nieces; two nephews; a great-niece; |

44 | 44 | | many great-nephews; and his kidney donor, Elisha Poole (Jeremy) Channell, whose gift |

45 | 45 | | provided Mr. Herron over twenty more years of cherished life; and |

46 | 46 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Herron leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in |

47 | 47 | | public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all his chosen |

49 | 49 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to |

50 | 50 | | remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore, |

51 | 51 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |

52 | 52 | | GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF |

53 | 53 | | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Edward Gaylon Herron, |

54 | 54 | | reflecting fondly upon his impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to living the |

55 | 55 | | examined life with courage and conviction. |

56 | 56 | | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences |
