1212 A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Edward Gaylon Herron
1313 of Brownsville.

1515 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
1616 the passing of Edward Gaylon Herron of Brownsville; and
1717 WHEREAS, Mr. Herron was an exemplary gentleman and consummate professional
1818 who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens in numerous
1919 capacities; and
2020 WHEREAS, born in Haywood County on April 15, 1958, to Danny Joe Herron and Peggy
2121 Jean Taylor Herron, Mr. Herron served his community for over forty years with his farming and
2222 trucking operation; and
2323 WHEREAS, wishing to aid his fellow citizens in an even greater capacity, Mr. Herron
2424 was a faithful board member and volunteer firefighter at the Belle Eagle District 7 Fire
2525 Department, where his efforts maintained the safety and security of his neighbors, and while he
2626 could, he annually volunteered his time and talent at the Brownsville Tractor Pull; and
2727 WHEREAS, a man of refined leisure, Mr. Herron was an accomplished outdoorsman
2828 who relished duck hunting with his uncle, the late Jerry Alan Taylor, and he had a passion for
2929 football, listening to Haywood High School Tomcat football every Friday; and
3030 WHEREAS, Mr. Herron married his beloved wife, Patricia, in 1979; their union was
3131 blessed with two daughters, and the Herrons enjoyed a bucolic existence in the Bethel
3232 community, often vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains; and
3333 WHEREAS, Mr. Herron was a family man of unmatched quality, and whether he was
3434 cultivating a garden with his mother or supporting his daughters' athletic endeavors, he always
3535 did his utmost to ensure that his tender devotion was apparent; and

4040 WHEREAS, preceded in death by his father, Mr. Herron is survived by his mother,
4141 Peggy Jean Herron; his brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Wade (Doris) Herron; his wife, Patricia
4242 Harmon Herron; his two daughters, Emily Herron (Patrick) Littlejohn and Maggie Anne Herron
4343 (James Harris); his dear friend, Tracy Young; a multitude of nieces; two nephews; a great-niece;
4444 many great-nephews; and his kidney donor, Elisha Poole (Jeremy) Channell, whose gift
4545 provided Mr. Herron over twenty more years of cherished life; and
4646 WHEREAS, Mr. Herron leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in
4747 public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all his chosen
4848 endeavors; and
4949 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
5050 remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
5151 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
5252 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
5353 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Edward Gaylon Herron,
5454 reflecting fondly upon his impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to living the
5555 examined life with courage and conviction.
5656 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences
5757 to the family of Mr. Herron.
5858 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5959 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
6060 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
6161 without House or Senate designation.
