12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and commend the Greenfield Lady
13	13	Yellowjackets girls' basketball team upon
14	14	winning the 2025 TSSAA Division I, Class 1A
15	15	state championship.

17	17	WHEREAS, it is fitting that this General Assembly should salute those student athletes
18	18	who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as true champions of
19	19	whom we can all be proud; and
20	20	WHEREAS, one such exemplary group of lasses is the Lady Yellowjackets girls'
21	21	basketball team of Greenfield High School, whose members have proven themselves to be the
22	22	fiercest of competitors and truly worthy of admiration by winning their second TSSAA Division I,
23	23	Class 1A state championship in 2025, having previously won it all in 2018; and
24	24	WHEREAS, in post-season play, the Lady Yellowjackets stung Humboldt 52-32, bested
25	25	Union City 41-37, and defeated Dresden 54-48 to claim the Region 7-1A title; and
26	26	WHEREAS, Greenfield then proceeded to roll over University High School of Memphis
27	27	67-46 in the sectional round to gain entry into the promised land of the state tournament; and
28	28	WHEREAS, playing in the Class 1A state tournament at MTSU's Murphy Center, the
29	29	Lady Yellowjackets defeated North Greene 44-39 in the quarterfinals and then vanquished
30	30	Richland 47-40 in their semifinal match-up to advance to the final; and
31	31	WHEREAS, facing Van Buren in the title game, Greenfield prevailed 49-46 in a close
32	32	contest to win the Gold Ball trophy that signifies a state champion, finishing the season with a
33	33	remarkable 30-6 record; and
34	34	WHEREAS, each of these young ladies holds Greenfield's small-town traditions close to
35	35	her heart and is proud to be a Lady Yellowjacket; the team members include Kylee McNeil, Ella
36	36	Porter, Brenley Little, Ashlyn Bryant, Jayleigh Bowers, Rayanna Fisher, Arabella Turnbow,

41	41	Kensie Garner, Madilyn Paschall, AnnaGrace Abernathy, Madelyn Coble, Jolie Lunsford, Jerica
42	42	Montgomery, Adlee Sullivan, Jayne Long, Campbell McCallister, Mary Katherine Moore, Emma
43	43	Capps, and Callie Harrington; and
44	44	WHEREAS, Greenfield's superb performance would not have been possible without the
45	45	expert guidance of Head Coach Tori Liggett and her assistant coaches, Alyse Darby, Don
46	46	Durden, John Liggett, and Tara Tansil, and the unfailing support of the players' families, their
47	47	fans, and their close-knit community; and
48	48	WHEREAS, the members of the Greenfield girls' basketball team epitomize all that is
49	49	good in today's student athletes, as they have achieved a premier level of success in
50	50	competition while exhibiting the highest degree of character in all aspects of life; and
51	51	WHEREAS, the perseverance, determination, work ethic, and talent of this group of
52	52	young women not only made possible a championship season but also surely bode well for their
53	53	future success; and
54	54	WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to acknowledge
55	55	and applaud the Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets for their outstanding season on the hardwood;
56	56	now, therefore,
57	57	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
58	58	GENERAL ASSEMBL Y OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
59	59	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend the members of the
60	60	Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets girls' basketball team upon winning the 2025 TSSAA Division I,
61	61	Class 1A state tournament, applaud their seven consecutive victories to claim the state
62	62	championship, and extend to them our best wishes for every continued success in all their
63	63	future endeavors.
64	64	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
65	65	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
