1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and commend the Greenfield Lady
1313 Yellowjackets girls' basketball team upon
1414 winning the 2025 TSSAA Division I, Class 1A
1515 state championship.

1717 WHEREAS, it is fitting that this General Assembly should salute those student athletes
1818 who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as true champions of
1919 whom we can all be proud; and
2020 WHEREAS, one such exemplary group of lasses is the Lady Yellowjackets girls'
2121 basketball team of Greenfield High School, whose members have proven themselves to be the
2222 fiercest of competitors and truly worthy of admiration by winning their second TSSAA Division I,
2323 Class 1A state championship in 2025, having previously won it all in 2018; and
2424 WHEREAS, in post-season play, the Lady Yellowjackets stung Humboldt 52-32, bested
2525 Union City 41-37, and defeated Dresden 54-48 to claim the Region 7-1A title; and
2626 WHEREAS, Greenfield then proceeded to roll over University High School of Memphis
2727 67-46 in the sectional round to gain entry into the promised land of the state tournament; and
2828 WHEREAS, playing in the Class 1A state tournament at MTSU's Murphy Center, the
2929 Lady Yellowjackets defeated North Greene 44-39 in the quarterfinals and then vanquished
3030 Richland 47-40 in their semifinal match-up to advance to the final; and
3131 WHEREAS, facing Van Buren in the title game, Greenfield prevailed 49-46 in a close
3232 contest to win the Gold Ball trophy that signifies a state champion, finishing the season with a
3333 remarkable 30-6 record; and
3434 WHEREAS, each of these young ladies holds Greenfield's small-town traditions close to
3535 her heart and is proud to be a Lady Yellowjacket; the team members include Kylee McNeil, Ella
3636 Porter, Brenley Little, Ashlyn Bryant, Jayleigh Bowers, Rayanna Fisher, Arabella Turnbow,

4444 WHEREAS, Greenfield's superb performance would not have been possible without the
4545 expert guidance of Head Coach Tori Liggett and her assistant coaches, Alyse Darby, Don
4646 Durden, John Liggett, and Tara Tansil, and the unfailing support of the players' families, their
4747 fans, and their close-knit community; and
4848 WHEREAS, the members of the Greenfield girls' basketball team epitomize all that is
4949 good in today's student athletes, as they have achieved a premier level of success in
5050 competition while exhibiting the highest degree of character in all aspects of life; and
5151 WHEREAS, the perseverance, determination, work ethic, and talent of this group of
5252 young women not only made possible a championship season but also surely bode well for their
5353 future success; and
5454 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to acknowledge
5555 and applaud the Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets for their outstanding season on the hardwood;
5656 now, therefore,
5757 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
5858 GENERAL ASSEMBL Y OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
5959 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend the members of the
6060 Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets girls' basketball team upon winning the 2025 TSSAA Division I,
6161 Class 1A state tournament, applaud their seven consecutive victories to claim the state
6262 championship, and extend to them our best wishes for every continued success in all their
6363 future endeavors.
6464 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
