12 | 12 | | A RESOLUTION to honor and commend David Hale for his |

13 | 13 | | meritorious service to the State of Tennessee. |

15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to |
---|
16 | 16 | | specially recognize those estimable public servants who have dedicated themselves to |
---|
17 | 17 | | improving the quality of life for their fellow citizens; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, David Hale is one such estimable person, who evinces the greatest integrity |
---|
19 | 19 | | and probity in all his chosen endeavors; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, a 1974 graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy, Mr. Hale initially |
---|
21 | 21 | | served Wilson County Civil Defense, now Wilson County Emergency Management (WEMA), as |
---|
22 | 22 | | a volunteer before joining the team as a permanent staff member; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, during his tenure with WEMA, David Hale was an instructor for the fire |
---|
24 | 24 | | academy and was afforded opportunities to participate in a variety of emergency services; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hale rose through the ranks at WEMA, and in 1982, he was promoted |
---|
26 | 26 | | to deputy director; in 1993, he became the director of WEMA, in which position he served with |
---|
27 | 27 | | distinction until his retirement in 1999; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, a respected and trusted leader, Mr. Hale returned to work in 2001 as a |
---|
29 | 29 | | judicial magistrate for Wilson County, serving his community with acumen and alacrity before |
---|
30 | 30 | | taking his much-deserved retirement from that role in May 2017; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, a gentleman of many talents and interests, David Hale founded his DJ |
---|
32 | 32 | | company, HAWK Specialty Services, alongside his best friend, Sondra Winfree, in 1999; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, the pair started off with two speakers and an amplifier purchased from a |
---|
34 | 34 | | pawn shop, and now, HAWK Specialty Services can be found from St. Louis, Missouri, to |
---|

39 | 39 | | Tampa, Florida, providing DJ services, live sound for fairs and festivals, casino entertainment, |

41 | 41 | | WHEREAS, an accomplished member of his community and his profession, Mr. Hale |
---|
42 | 42 | | served the board of directors of Wilson County Promotions, or the Wilson County Fair, and as |
---|
43 | 43 | | chairperson of the Independent Midway Committee; and |
---|
44 | 44 | | WHEREAS, he is also a member of the State of Tennessee Ride Safety Board, the |
---|
45 | 45 | | Tennessee Association of Fairs, the Independent International Showman's Association, the St. |
---|
46 | 46 | | Louis Showman's Association, the International Bluegrass Music Association, the Mt. Juliet |
---|
47 | 47 | | Chamber of Commerce, and the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, among |
---|
48 | 48 | | numerous other boards and organizations; and |
---|
49 | 49 | | WHEREAS, his professional accomplishments aside, Mr. Hale is most grateful for the |
---|
50 | 50 | | love and support of his wife, Lanah; and |
---|
51 | 51 | | WHEREAS, the success of the State of Tennessee, the strength of our communities, |
---|
52 | 52 | | and the overall vitality of our society depend, in great measure, on the dedication of people such |
---|
53 | 53 | | as Mr. Hale, who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others; and |
---|
54 | 54 | | WHEREAS, David Hale is wholly committed to the noble precepts of public service that |
---|
55 | 55 | | have earned Tennessee recognition as the Volunteer State, and he should be specially |
---|
56 | 56 | | recognized; now, therefore, |
---|
57 | 57 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |

58 | 58 | | GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF |

59 | 59 | | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend David Hale for his indelible |
