1212 A RESOLUTION to honor Beverly C. Robertson in celebration of
1313 Women's Day on the Hill.

1515 WHEREAS, Women's Day on the Hill is a time to honor the achievements of those
1616 Tennessee women who have paved the way for every person to have the opportunity to pursue
1717 the American dream; and
1818 WHEREAS, the Volunteer State is proud to be the home of the awe-inspiring Beverly C.
1919 Robertson, who recently retired as the President and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber,
2020 the first woman and the first African American to ever lead the organization in its 185 years of
2121 existence; and
2222 WHEREAS, Ms. Robertson currently serves as the COO of Trust Marketing, which she
2323 helped found in 1991; throughout her stellar and celebrated career in corporate and nonprofit
2424 leadership, she has served as Vice President of Internal Communications for Holiday Inns
2525 worldwide and interim Executive Director of the National Civil Rights Museum, where she also
2626 served as President for eighteen years; and
2727 WHEREAS, named one of USA Today's "Women of the Century" in 2020, Ms.
2828 Robertson has further served her fellow citizens through consulting work with the Association of
2929 African American Museums and the National Museum of African American History and Culture;

3131 WHEREAS, in saluting Ms. Robertson on this special occasion, let us remember that
3232 when women succeed, America succeeds, as does Tennessee; now, therefore,
3333 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
3434 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we hereby honor and commend

4141 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
