WHEREAS, Women's Day on the Hill is a time to honor the achievements of those Tennessee women who have paved the way for every person to have the opportunity to pursue the American dream; and WHEREAS, the Volunteer State is proud to be the home of the awe-inspiring Cathy Carrillo, a Nashville native who has a decade of experience in nonprofit and grassroots organizations and who now serves as the Metro Human Relations Commission's Director of Community Engagement; and WHEREAS, her work, both past and present, has been instrumental in preserving the dignity, diversity, and common welfare of Nashville's citizens; and WHEREAS, in saluting Ms. Carrillo on this special occasion, let us remember that when women succeed, America succeeds, as does Tennessee; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we hereby honor and commend Cathy Carrillo on her many contributions to the State of Tennessee as we celebrate Women's Day on the Hill. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
