A RESOLUTION to honor Carragan Laine Fields upon her
exemplary service to the Senate.
WHEREAS, the members of the Senate wish to recognize a highly skilled and talented
professional who, throughout her tenure with the legislature, evidenced the dedication and
excellence of a true public servant; and
WHEREAS, Carragan Laine Fields began her legislative service as an intern in Senator
Ferrell Haile's office in 2022, and she stayed connected with him and his staff after returning to
her studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK); and
WHEREAS, when a position in Senator Haile's office became available, the Senator
quickly offered the job to Carragan; she accepted; and neither party has since regretted the
decision; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Fields gladly completed her final semester of undergraduate work
online to begin her career with the State of Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, while working full-time for Senator Haile, Carragan was named a
Torchbearer at UTK, and she was honored to serve as the commencement speaker at her
graduation ceremony; and
WHEREAS, Carragan Fields brought immense positivity to Senator Haile's office, not
only through her warm and friendly demeanor, but also through her vibrant attire and pink
workspace; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Fields consistently upheld the highest standards of integrity while
working for the Senate, demonstrating a strong commitment to ethical principles, both in her
work and her personal conduct; and

WHEREAS, beyond her professional excellence, Carragan Fields is a genuine and
intentional friend; she brought smiles to people throughout the Cordell Hull Building and built
meaningful, lasting friendships with her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Carragan Fields has now relinquished her legislative duties to work for
Deputy Commissioner Andy Holt at the Department of Agriculture; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor and commend
Carragan Laine Fields upon her exemplary service to the Senate, thank her for making the
Cordell Hull Building a more joyful workplace, and wish her the very best in her continued
service to the people of the Great State of Tennessee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
