12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor Tracey Morant Adams, Ph.D., Alpha
13	13	Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., South Eastern
14	14	Region Director.

16	16	WHEREAS, we are pleased to recognize the leaders of those estimable organizations
17	17	who, through their unflagging commitment and unwavering dedication to the highest tenets of
18	18	community service, enrich the lives of the citizens of this State; and
19	19	WHEREAS, one such individual is Dr. Tracey Morant Adams, who currently serves the
20	20	South Eastern Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., as Regional Director; and
21	21	WHEREAS, the South Eastern Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha includes the states of
22	22	Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama, with more than 118 undergraduate and graduate
23	23	chapters and over 14,000 active members who are dedicated to the mission of their illustrious
24	24	organization; and
25	25	WHEREAS, the Tennessee Cluster of the region has continued to grow and thrive over
26	26	the years; its current membership totals thirty-three chapters across the Volunteer State's three
27	27	Grand Divisions; and
28	28	WHEREAS, motivated by an altruistic concern for human welfare, Dr. Morant Adams
29	29	was initiated in the Mu Chapter in 1985 and has remained an active member since that time;
30	30	she has served at all levels of the sorority, most recently as Chairman of the International
31	31	Membership Committee, spearheading a campaign to reactivate more than 30,000 members;

33	33	WHEREAS, her impressive tenure of service also includes being a Representative to the
34	34	Membership, Standards Committees, and the I/E Investigations Team; at the regional level, she

39	39	has served as Operations Chairman, Logistics Chairman, Secretary, and General Chairman of
40	40	the 79

42	42	South Eastern Regional Conference; and
43	43	WHEREAS, additionally, she is a Charter Member of the Upsilon Eta Omega Chapter
44	44	and a certified Parliamentarian, Graduate Advisor, and Financial Officer; and
45	45	WHEREAS, apart from her involvement with Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., Dr. Tracey Morant
46	46	Adams is Chief Community Development and Corporate Social Responsibility Officer for
47	47	Renasant Bank and serves as Executive Strategist for the bank's DEI framework; and
48	48	WHEREAS, her humanitarian efforts have been celebrated by many, including the
49	49	NAACP, Profiles in Diversity Journal, and Savoy magazine, which named her among the Most
50	50	Influential Black Executives in Corporate America; and
51	51	WHERES, Dr. Morant Adams's civic affiliations include serving on the Talladega College
52	52	Board of Trustees, the Birmingham Kiwanis Board, The Women's Foundation of Alabama,
53	53	Children's Hospital of Alabama, and The Links, Incorporated; she also serves on national
54	54	community development advocacy boards and was appointed to the Alabama Women's
55	55	Statutes Commission by the governor of Alabama in 2021; and
56	56	WHEREAS, her many accomplishments aside, she is most grateful for the love of her
57	57	husband, Jeffery J. Adams, Sr., a Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and proud to
58	58	be the bonus mother of J.J. Adams and the daughter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Life
59	59	Member Callie W. Morant; her goddaughter, Trinity Odongo, is also a member of the sorority;
60	60	and
61	61	WHEREAS, Director Tracey Morant Adams has ably steered the South Eastern Region
62	62	toward continued, unparalleled success, ever furthering the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha along
63	63	with her sorors from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama; now, therefore,
64	64	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
65	65	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor Alpha Kappa Alpha
