A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the use of bulletproof glass in certain vehicles
purchased by the Department of Public Safety.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 547.702, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
(g) A department police vehicle must be equipped with a
front windshield containing bulletproof glass.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to vehicles purchased by the Department of Public Safety of the
State of Texas on or after the effective date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
