77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 130, Education Code, is
99 amended by adding Section 130.0851 to read as follows:
1010 Sec. 130.0851. TUITION EXEMPTION FOR DISTRICT EMPLOYEES.
1111 The governing board of a junior college district may exempt a
1212 district employee who enrolls in courses offered by the district
1313 from the payment of all or part of the tuition or fees charged to a
1414 student at a junior college by the district.
1515 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1616 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1717 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1818 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1919 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
