8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 13.046(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
10 | 10 | read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (a) Each principal of a public or private high school [or | |
12 | 12 | the principal's designee] shall designate four people who are | |
13 | 13 | employees of the high school or employees of the district in which | |
14 | 14 | the high school is located and serving at the high school to serve | |
15 | 15 | as [a] deputy registrars [registrar] for the county in which the | |
16 | 16 | school is located. At least three of the employees designated as | |
17 | 17 | deputy registrars under this section must be classroom teachers or | |
18 | 18 | full-time counselors certified under Subchapter B, Chapter 21, | |
19 | 19 | Education Code. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
