9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 341, Local Government | |
10 | 10 | Code, is amended by adding Section 341.9051 to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 341.9051. ENFORCEMENT OF JUVENILE CURFEW ORDINANCE IN | |
12 | 12 | GENERAL-LAW OR HOME-RULE MUNICIPALITY. The governing body of a | |
13 | 13 | general-law or home-rule municipality that adopts a juvenile curfew | |
14 | 14 | ordinance may authorize the sheriff of each county in which the | |
15 | 15 | municipality is located or the constable of each county precinct in | |
16 | 16 | which the municipality is located to enforce the ordinance. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
