A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to competitive bidding by school districts for
professional services.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 2254, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 2254.0025 to read as follows:
Sec. 2254.0025. EXCEPTION. This subchapter does not apply
to a school district.
SECTION 2. Section 44.031(f), Education Code, is repealed.
SECTION 3. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
the selection of a provider of professional services or the award of
a contract to provide professional services made on or after the
effective date of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
