88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 42.0021, Parks and Wildlife Code, is
1010 amended to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 42.0021. LIFETIME [RESIDENT] HUNTING LICENSE. The
1212 department may issue to a resident [residents] of this state or a
1313 nonresident who was born in this state a lifetime [resident]
1414 hunting license.
1515 SECTION 2. Section 42.0121, Parks and Wildlife Code, is
1616 amended to read as follows:
1717 Sec. 42.0121. LIFETIME [RESIDENT] HUNTING LICENSE FEE. The
1818 fee for a lifetime [resident] hunting license is $800 [$300] or an
1919 amount set by the commission, whichever amount is more.
2020 SECTION 3. Section 42.0175(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
2121 amended to read as follows:
2222 (a) A license issued under this chapter, other than a
2323 lifetime [resident] hunting license or a nonresident five-day
2424 special hunting license is valid only during the yearly period for
2525 which the license is issued without regard to the date on which a
2626 license is acquired. Each yearly period begins on September 1 or on
2727 another date set by the commission and extends through August 31 of
2828 the next year or another date set by the commission. A license
2929 issued under this chapter other than a nonresident five-day special
3030 hunting license that is issued before September 1 or another date
3131 set by the commission and does not expire until August 31 of the
3232 next year or another date set by the commission is valid from the
3333 date of issuance through August 31 of the following year or another
3434 date set by the commission. The commission by rule may set the
3535 amount of a license fee for a license issued during a transition
3636 period at an amount lower than prescribed in this chapter and
3737 provide for a license term for a transition period that is shorter
3838 or longer than a year.
3939 SECTION 4. Section 46.004(d), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
4040 amended to read as follows:
4141 (d) The department may issue a lifetime [resident] fishing
4242 license to a resident [residents] of this state or a nonresident who
4343 was born in this state. The fee for this license is $800 [$300] or
4444 an amount set by the commission, whichever amount is more.
4545 SECTION 5. Section 46.007(e), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
4646 amended to read as follows:
4747 (e) A lifetime [resident] fishing license is valid for the
4848 lifetime of the license holder.
4949 SECTION 6. Section 50.001(b), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
5050 amended to read as follows:
5151 (b) The department may issue to a resident of this state or a
5252 nonresident who was born in this state a lifetime combination
5353 hunting and fishing license.
5454 SECTION 7. Section 50.002(b), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
5555 amended to read as follows:
5656 (b) The fee for the lifetime license is $1,500 [$500] or an
5757 amount set by the commission, whichever amount is more.
5858 SECTION 8. Section 50.0021(c), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
5959 amended to read as follows:
6060 (c) A lifetime [resident] combination hunting and fishing
6161 license is valid for the lifetime of the license holder.
6262 SECTION 9. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
