A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to public notice of building requirements and inspection
standards in first tier coastal counties.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2210.251, Insurance Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (i) to read as follows:
(i) The department shall by rule develop a public notice
form to be posted in all building supply stores in first tier
coastal counties in order to educate consumers on specific building
requirements and inspection standards for coverage through the
association.
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date
of this Act the Texas Department of Insurance shall adopt rules to
implement Section 2210.251(i), Insurance Code, as added by this
Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
