55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the criminal consequences of a refusal or failure to
88 comply with certain rules and orders issued or entered by the
99 commissioners court of a county in connection with the public roads
1010 of the county.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 251, Transportation Code,
1313 is amended by adding Section 251.018 to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 251.018. REFUSAL OR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH RULE OR
1515 ORDER; OFFENSE. (a) A person commits a misdemeanor offense if the
1616 person refuses or fails to comply with a rule issued or an order
1717 entered by a commissioners court under this subchapter.
1818 (b) An offense under this section is punishable by a fine
1919 not to exceed $200.
2020 (c) If conduct that constitutes an offense under this
2121 section also constitutes an offense under any other law, the actor
2222 may be prosecuted under this section or the other law.
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
