 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the criminal consequences of a refusal or failure to
 comply with certain rules and orders issued or entered by the
 commissioners court of a county in connection with the public roads
 of the county.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 251, Transportation Code,
 is amended by adding Section 251.018 to read as follows:
 Sec. 251.018.  REFUSAL OR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH RULE OR
 ORDER; OFFENSE. (a)  A person commits a misdemeanor offense if the
 person refuses or fails to comply with a rule issued or an order
 entered by a commissioners court under this subchapter.
 (b)  An offense under this section is punishable by a fine
 not to exceed $200.
 (c)  If conduct that constitutes an offense under this
 section also constitutes an offense under any other law, the actor
 may be prosecuted under this section or the other law.
 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
