| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 10 | 10 | is amended by adding Section 504.415 to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 504.415. MUNICIPAL JUDGES AND JUSTICES OF THE PEACE. | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates for | |
| 13 | 13 | elected or appointed municipal judges and justices of the peace for | |
| 14 | 14 | use during their term of office. The license plates must include a | |
| 15 | 15 | depiction of the scales of justice and the words "Municipal Judge" | |
| 16 | 16 | or "Justice of the Peace." | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) A person may be issued three sets of license plates | |
| 18 | 18 | under this section. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
