8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. The following provisions are repealed: | |
10 | 10 | (1) Sections 8.07(c), 12.31, 12.42(c)(3), and 19.03, | |
11 | 11 | Penal Code; and | |
12 | 12 | (2) Articles 37.071, 37.0711, 37.072, 43.14, 43.141, | |
13 | 13 | 43.15, 43.16, 43.17, 43.18, 43.19, 43.20, 43.21, 43.22, 43.23, | |
14 | 14 | 43.24, and 43.25, Code of Criminal Procedure. | |
15 | 15 | SECTION 2. (a) The change in law made by this Act applies | |
16 | 16 | only to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this | |
17 | 17 | Act. For purposes of this section, an offense is committed before | |
18 | 18 | the effective date of this Act if any element of the offense occurs | |
19 | 19 | before that date. | |
20 | 20 | (b) An offense committed before the effective date of this | |
21 | 21 | Act is governed by the law in effect when the offense was committed, | |
22 | 22 | and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
