5	5	relating to authorizing the Texas Board of Criminal Justice to
6	6	convey certain real property to the City of Dallas in exchange for
7	7	comparable property.
8	8	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
9	9	SECTION 1. (a) The Texas Board of Criminal Justice may
10	10	convey the real property described by Section 2 of this Act to the
11	11	City of Dallas if the City of Dallas conveys real property to the
12	12	Texas Board of Criminal Justice:
13	13	(1) that is not more than 20 miles from the property
14	14	line of the real property described by Section 2 of this Act; and
15	15	(2) on which there is a facility the Texas Board of
16	16	Criminal Justice determines is comparable to the Dawson State Jail
17	17	Facility located on the property described by Section 2 of this Act.
18	18	(b) The General Land Office shall negotiate and close a
19	19	transaction under this section on behalf of the Texas Board of
20	20	Criminal Justice.
21	21	(c) Section 272.001, Local Government Code, and Section
22	22	31.158, Natural Resources Code, do not apply to a transaction under
23	23	this section.
24	24	SECTION 2. This Act applies to the real property described
25	25	as follows:
26	26	Being a 0.907 acre tract of land located in the John Booman Survey,
27	27	Abstract number 208, in the City of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas and
28	28	being a part of Reunion Plaza and Addition to the City of Dallas,
29	29	according to the plot in Volume 87040, Page 6347, Plat records of
30	30	Dallas County, Texas more particularly described as follows:
31	31	COMMENCING at a found HALFF ASSOC. Iron rod, for the northwest
32	32	corner of said Reunion Plaza, and the southerly right-of-way line
33	33	of Commerce Street (175' R.O.W.):
34	34	THENCE N 76 00'04" E along said southerly right-of-way 21.50 feet
35	35	to a set pk nail in asphalt for the POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein
36	36	described tract;
37	37	THENCE N 76 00'04" E continue along said southerly right-of-way
38	38	125.03 feet to a set pk nail in asphalt;
39	39	THENCE S 15 09'15" E, departing from said southerly right-of-way,
40	40	315.00 feet to a set pk nail in asphalt;
41	41	THENCE S 74 30'46" W, 125.00 feet to a set pk nail in asphalt;
42	42	THENCE N 15 09'15" W, 317.52 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,
43	43	containing 0.907 Acres (39,534 square feet) of land more or less.
44	44	SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
45	45	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
46	46	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
47	47	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
48	48	Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
