| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 504.4011 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 504.4011. MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS. (a) The department | |
| 13 | 13 | shall issue specially designed license plates for a passenger car | |
| 14 | 14 | or light truck owned by a person who is a member of the governing | |
| 15 | 15 | body of a municipality. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) License plates issued under this section must include | |
| 17 | 17 | the words "City Official." | |
| 18 | 18 | (c) A person may be issued three sets of license plates | |
| 19 | 19 | under this section. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. | |
