A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the issuance of specialized license plates for
municipal officials.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 504.4011 to read as follows:
Sec. 504.4011. MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS. (a) The department
shall issue specially designed license plates for a passenger car
or light truck owned by a person who is a member of the governing
body of a municipality.
(b) License plates issued under this section must include
the words "City Official."
(c) A person may be issued three sets of license plates
under this section.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.

Amend H.B. 3500 as follows:
(1) On page 1, line 9, between "is" and "member" strike "a"
and substitute "an elected".
