O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB3721 by Ortiz, Jr. (Relating to the training and certification of certain members or former members of the military as correctional officers.), As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code by requiring the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to establish a program to train and certify as a correctional officer, an individual who is a former member of the United States armed forces, a member or former member of a reserve component of the United States armed forces, or a member or former member of the state military forces.
