A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the requirement that livestock at auction facilities
located in or near a fever tick quarantine area be dipped.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 167.051, Agriculture Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
(d) The owner of a livestock auction facility located in or
not more than 20 miles from the border of an area quarantined for
the prevention or control of fever ticks shall dip each head of
livestock before allowing the livestock to be moved from the
premises of the auction facility.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
