A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the waiver of state park entrance fees for certain
persons.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 13.015(a-1), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(a-1) The commission shall [may] waive the park entrance fee
for a person who is at least 70 years of age. The commission may not
waive the fee for use of a park facility, including a hook-up fee
for electricity or water.
SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 13, Parks and Wildlife
Code, is amended by adding Section 13.0185 to read as follows:
Sec. 13.0185. PARK FEE WAIVER FOR MEMBERS OF THE TEXAS STATE
GUARD. The department shall waive the state park entrance fee and
vehicle entrance fee for any person who is an active member of the
Texas State Guard on presentation of the person's Texas State Guard
identification card.
SECTION 3. This Act take effect September 1, 2009.
