| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. (a) This section applies to the districts used | |
| 10 | 10 | to elect the members of the Texas House of Representatives as | |
| 11 | 11 | established by order of the Legislative Redistricting Board in 2001 | |
| 12 | 12 | and modified by subsequent court order. | |
| 13 | 13 | (b) Census blocks 3015, 4015, 4016, 4017, and 4023 of Dallas | |
| 14 | 14 | County census tract 000500 are transferred from House District 100 | |
| 15 | 15 | to House District 108. | |
| 16 | 16 | (c) The districts as modified by this Act apply to the | |
| 17 | 17 | election of the members of the Texas House of Representatives | |
| 18 | 18 | beginning with the primary and general elections in 2010 for | |
| 19 | 19 | members of the house of representatives of the 82nd Legislature. | |
| 20 | 20 | This Act does not affect the membership or districts of the house of | |
| 21 | 21 | representatives of the 81st Legislature, or an election to fill a | |
| 22 | 22 | vacancy in the office of state representative for any part of the | |
| 23 | 23 | 81st Legislature. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
