A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the composition of certain state representative
districts.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. (a) This section applies to the districts used
to elect the members of the Texas House of Representatives as
established by order of the Legislative Redistricting Board in 2001
and modified by subsequent court order.
(b) Census blocks 3015, 4015, 4016, 4017, and 4023 of Dallas
County census tract 000500 are transferred from House District 100
to House District 108.
(c) The districts as modified by this Act apply to the
election of the members of the Texas House of Representatives
beginning with the primary and general elections in 2010 for
members of the house of representatives of the 82nd Legislature.
This Act does not affect the membership or districts of the house of
representatives of the 81st Legislature, or an election to fill a
vacancy in the office of state representative for any part of the
81st Legislature.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
