 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
relating to the application of the sunset review process to the
 office of vehicle fleet management.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 2171, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 2171.106 to read as follows:
Sec. 2171.106. APPLICATION OF SUNSET ACT. (a) The office
of vehicle fleet management in the comptroller's office is subject
to Chapter 325 (Texas Sunset Act) as if the office of vehicle fleet
management were a state agency. Unless continued in existence as
provided by that chapter, the office of vehicle fleet management is
abolished and this subchapter expires September 1, 2011.
 (b) To the extent Chapter 325 imposes a duty on a state
agency under review, the comptroller's office shall perform that
duty as it relates to the office of vehicle fleet management.
 (c) The Sunset Advisory Commission shall include in its
review an analysis of the practical effect of rules adopted by state
 agencies under Section 2171.1045.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
