44 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
55 AN ACT
66 relating to the Child Care and Development Block Grant.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 310.002, Labor Code, is amended by
99 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1010 (d) All Child Care and Development Block Grant funds
1111 received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
1212 not explicitly dedicated under federal law shall be dedicated to
1313 investments or programs that will improve the quality of child care
1414 services delivered under the Child Care and Development Block Grant
1515 after federal funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment
1616 Act expire.
1717 SECTION 2. The Act takes effect immediately if it receives a
1818 vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1919 provided by Section 29, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2020 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2121 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
