| 7 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 8 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 310.002, Labor Code, is amended by | |
| 9 | 9 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 10 | 10 | (d) All Child Care and Development Block Grant funds | |
| 11 | 11 | received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 | |
| 12 | 12 | not explicitly dedicated under federal law shall be dedicated to | |
| 13 | 13 | investments or programs that will improve the quality of child care | |
| 14 | 14 | services delivered under the Child Care and Development Block Grant | |
| 15 | 15 | after federal funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment | |
| 16 | 16 | Act expire. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. The Act takes effect immediately if it receives a | |
| 18 | 18 | vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 29, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
